I quite enjoyed this episode.
Liked how Mason was firm in his stance on who should run the investigation but also trying to please the FBI in order not to anger them. Also his speech about LA being a sanctuary city, it seemed reasonable although I'm looking at the matter from across the Atlantic.
It also appears Wes' little speech to Camila toned her down at the end a bit, have to say that she was a bit annoying at the start.. hopefully her character is moving in a right direction and that little progress is not lost between episodes, although I'm confident in the writers that they don't just "undo progress".
That priest seemed suspicious from the beginning, wondering if he has really left the country or if that was just a story to distract the LAPD. If he really has been transferred to another country, I can't help but think that Father Stan was the one who alerted to Church about his behavior and therefore "got him out" to protect the church (like he said he would). That could be a big hit for Sharon, considering Father Stan is her priest (wasn't he the one in "White Lies" in the confession booth with Sharon?)

For me it was an okay episode. Something about the parents attitudes and behaior is rubbing me wrong and the FBI being so nasty, I guess i'm just used to Fritz.. Did Raymond Cruz leave the show?
Julio was said to be on bereavement leave after the death of his mother. He's back next week. Cruz must have had another project in the works when they were filming these first episodes.
Didn't like the FBI guys either, but we know from earlier press releases that the woman is supposed to be "a good guy" and her partner is someone who's considering this as a press opportunity and something he can build his career on. I'm sure we'll see more of that come to play later.
Something about the dead boys parent seemed off..
I mean his father was probably on drugs as Morales, Tao and Flynn speculated, and that is why he didn't really react but the mother.. considering how good friends the boys were supposed to be, there must be something else in the back to make her burst in and accuse the other parents for getting her son killed.
It could be just the first shock of the situation.. guess that'll get cleared up in the future.
