A murder case goes sideways at trial when defense attorney Linda Rothman is able to destroy Det. Amy Sykes’s credibility on the stand. Helping Rothman as a defense investigator is Amy's old nemesis, Mark Hickman.

  • Video from the payphone suggests the hitman was approximately 6'2" but exact height can only be estimated as the suspect was slouched.
  • Richard Bloom only made safe investments and had never invested in his brother's companies, which he had had several.
    • Somehow still agreed to invest in his new winery.
      • In return for his investment, his brother became his hitman.

  • While congratulating Rusty, Judge Grove states "I told you so" about Rusty becoming a lawyer. This refers to Four of a Kind when Judge Grove suggested Rusty become a lawyer when Rusty negotiated a deal to do his story on Slider. Judge Grove also refers to Rusty testifying before him in Return to Sender Part 2 and FindKaylaWeber.


  • Julio's former foster son Mark Jarvis is brought to Major Crimes by his neighbor after showing up at his house. Mark reveals he ran away due to the deteriorating situation at his grandparents following his grandfather's stroke and Julio is forced to call DCFS against Mark's pleas.
