Cat Stevens was a singer-songwriter who was well-known in the 1970's. In 1978 he converted to Islam after a near-death experience and started going by the name "Yusuf Islam". After returning to music, he changed his professional name to simply "Yusuf". And incidentally, he is on the FBI's terrorist watchlist for allegedly donating funds to questionable groups that may or may not be legitimate charities.
