On light duty after her close call with the PCH Killer, Brenda is in a car that is shredded with gunfire, killing a journalist, and tries to investigate the case even after being put on leave.

Closing the CaseEdit
This is the first epsiode in which the LAPD's Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team appears. The SWAT team is believed to have originated with the LAPD under the administration of Chief Edward Davis in 1967. Assigned to the Metropolitan Division, the LAPD's tactical unit, SWAT is charged with high-risk assignments such as hostage rescues or engaging heavily armed criminals. SWAT team members have highly specialized weapons training, and many have military experience.
